When the going gets tough...

...the tough keep going.

This week we had our first ever parent's evening at my son's new secondary school. If you've read my previous blog on feeling despondent you will have some understanding of where we were a few years ago.

I often hear parents who doubt themselves, who are tired of their struggle to support their children and are feeling despondent about their and their children's future.

To those parents, I remind you of the words from Billy Ocean:

When the going gets tough, the tough keep going...
I’m gonna put this dream in motion
I Never let nothing stand in my way...
Darlin’, I’ll climb any mountain
Darlin’, I’ll do anything.

It is worth it. The view from the top of the mountain is incredible.

15 teachers shared the same story. They can't believe how well he has settled. He's transformed in one term from an anxious emotional child who struggled to take feedback, to a confident, active learner, who has great friends and is flying academically. We could not ask for more.

When your child’s needs are understood, and the provision to meet those needs is in place, dreams can become reality.
